Wikibon Publishes 400th Research Note
Community generates more advisory notes than large research firms
The Wikibon community has produced its 400th research note, including Professional Alerts, How-to Notes and legitimate content pages on primarily storage and storage-related topics. Wikibon launched in January of 2007 and since that timeframe, a non-scientific search of leading research and advisory firm Web sites indicates the Wikibon community has produced more adoption-oriented content for users of storage technology than the top three research firms combined.
This is another example of the progress a community in action can make where an open source self-authoring platform like Wikibon can catalyze action and generate tremendous amounts of valuable content.
Wikibon also recently crossed the 200 member mark and continues to grow membership at 30-50% per month.
There are a number of ways community members contribute content on Wikibon, including:
- Improving/editing existing work
- Writing Professional Alerts-- shorter best-practice pieces on technology adoption
- Writing How-to Notes-- more in-depth adoption-oriented blueprints
- Producing derivative works from existing content.
Thanks to everyone who contributed content or edited existing works. Keep up the good work.
