What a great question. Here's my take...
1) Grand vision but lacks actionable elements
2) Means too many things to different people
3) Lack of heterogeneous vendor standards
4) Lack of automated data classification
5) Lacks ownership within organizations
These adoption barriers are overwhelming and make the reality of ILM always five years away.
