There's been a fair amount of talk about the different types of WAN accelerators. Riverbed seems to have a great branch strategy. Silverpeak has a a strong data center play. What features do you think are necessary for accelerating storage?

The challenge with WAN optimization in storage environments is that it tends to be a customized solution by application. Replication solutions vary by vendor and need to undergo qualification or certification between the vendors.
Most storage vendors have partnerships with one or more solutions in this space.
Customers are looking to shrink the size of the pipe required for replication and reducing the time for data transfer.
Nice article in Network Computing today covering the latest Gartner MQ for this space: http://www.networkcomputing.com/end-to-end-apm/gartner-wan-optimization-adapts-to-new-demands.php
