Recorded audio from the Peer Incite:
In and of itself, backup delivers no business value. And yet business are clamoring for more demanding RTO and RPO capabilities while CEOs are mandating that IT becomes more pay-as-you-go. New technology enablers such as virtualization, cloud computing and continuous data protection are changing the way organizations are thinking about recovery. We are moving away from a model where we backup up servers to one where we are protecting users and services. This vision requires thinking about data protection as a service where all the associated components of that service are protected as a whole.
At the next Peer Incite we’ll be joined by three guests:
- Justin Bell, Network Engineer at Strand Associates
- Mark Hadfield – CEO of cloud service provider nScaled
- Jim McNiel – CEO of Falconstor
Join as we explore the following key client issues:
- How and where is backup broken?
- Do clients need to rip and replace current backup systems?
- How do virtualization and cloud computing change backup and recovery?
- What’s needed to deliver data protection as a service?
- Where are the proof points?
