WikitipCyber security needs to improve in 2013As 2013 has finally arrived, it may be no surprise that more cyber threats are predicted to take place. Many security vendors predict that many hackers, or terrorists will attempt to destroy critical infrastructures, due to recent attempts on Israeli websites and Gulf oil production infrastructure. Cyber attacks are a low cost for hackers and the ideal way to obtain sensitive information, so it is important for people to protect their data. Another prediction is that there will be an increase in supply chain attacks, meaning that an organisation will be targeted via someone else who interacts with the organisation. Non-windows attacks will increase due to the increase in android devices so hackers are taking advantage of this mobile malware. The growth is similar to the Windows malware growth a while ago, suggesting that the mobile threat is real. Gartner suggests, "Endpoint security will become even more important as the number and types of devices accessing enterprise resources explode." Due to the increase of online shopping DNSCharger attacks are becoming more of a risk as malicious software changes domain name settings tricking people into thinking they are using the right website. They are instead on the hackers website giving them their personal information.
