WikitipSkype password security issueSome may have already heard about a recent problem with Skype that involved a security hole, which allowed anyone with your email address to access to your account. This was due to a password-reset bug so anyone with an email address of a skype user could reset the password. The reason is due to the simple form which does not request access to the email inbox, so can be changed with out any verification, luckily Skype was informed and amended this error straight away. Skype posted a comment on a blog stating that they had been notified about the insecure password and that it had affected many accounts. They also mentioned that they were fixing the problem and it would be resolved meaning that there would be a secure email service linked to the password reset. Skype dealt with the security issue extremely well and contacted the users who were affected by the security threat and helped in any way they could. |

Storage Virtualization Design and DeploymentA main impediment to storage virtualization is the lack of multiple storage vendor (heterogeneous) support within available virtualization technologies. This inhibits deployment across a data center. The only practical approach is either to implement a single vendor solution across the whole of the data center (practical only for small and some medium size data centers) or to implement virtualization in one or more of the largest storage pools within a data center. |
