The BDEvent: I’ll be there– will you?

Its not working...its networking

It's not's networking

Greg Duplessie contacted me just about a year ago to tell me about an idea he had. He said he was starting an event that put executives in touch with each other for one purpose: Networking. No booths. No nonsense. Very focused. Just business development. I told him: “I’m in…what can Wikibon do to help?”

As the saying goes: ‘It’s not working, it’s networking.’ And, if there’s an event in my industry where there will be a bunch of smart and connected people that understand what’s happening, what’s getting funded, who is moving and shaking—I want to be there.

I attended Greg and VaNessa’s Boston BD Event this past June and was fortunate enough to address the audience as an emerging company. I said at the time “I’m going to remember (proudly) that I was at the very first BD Event. I was in good company. It was small but very active. I didn’t meet 100% of the 100 or so attendees, which was my goal. I was too busy making new contacts and getting re-acquainted with folks I hadn’t seen in a while.

This year’s event is in Palo Alto from January 26 – 28, 2010 and will be limited to 200 attendees. Here’s the press release on the event and here’s the agenda.

I’m going to the BDEvent to network with the CEO’s of companies that are leading innovation over the next five years. Hope to see you there.
