Inside the Federation at EMC World 2013

EMC World 2010 was the first enterprise show of SiliconANGLE’s theCUBE. Over the last 3 years, theCUBE has interviewed more than 1,000 guests at dozens of shows; EMC World is one of the most popular programs every year. EMC has expanded far beyond storage to become a “federation” of companies in the EMC family: EMC, VMware and the newly launched Pivotal. The live broadcast schedule for theCUBE at EMC World will be a full 3 days, Monday May 6 – Wednesday May 8, 10am – 5pm Pacific. Guests include many CEOs, CIOs, CTOs, thought leaders and end-users from a broad spectrum of topics. Big Data in the Valley: theCUBE at Strata Conference 2013

Tomorrow marks the kickoff of Strata Conference 2013. This year, SiliconANGLE Wikibon is expanding its coverage from two days to three full days of live broadcast from the show floor. Big Data in Focus: theCUBE @ Hadoop Summit 2012

theCUBE Summer Tour continues next week when we roll into San Jose June 13th and 14th with live coverage of Hadoop Summit 2012. Presented by Hortonworks, Hadoop Summit brings together an incredible array of players in the Big Data market – both new school Hadoop providers like Hortonworks, Cloudera, Hadapt, MapR and Datameer, as well as tried-and-true IT vendors from IBM and Microsoft to Oracle and HP.

There are also a slew of Hadoop practitioners on-hand at the event, many of whom will join myself and SiliconANGLE’s John Furrier in theCUBE to share their experiences and advice with colleagues just getting started with Big Data. They include Intuit, Adobe, Klout, Twitter and Sears. As always, the show will be streamed in live HD at SiliconANGLE.tv.

Broadcasting EMC World 2012 and the Next Generation of Business Technology Careers

#TheCubeWhile EMC is still best known for its leadership in the storage marketplace, it long ago expanded its portfolio and brand. The acquisition of VMware and subsequent deep integration into virtualization environments accelerated EMC’s growth as part of the biggest trend of the last decade. EMC CEO Joe Tucci calls EMC “the smallest of the big” and Wikibon’s Dave Vellante has predicted EMC/VMware will be the next $100B market cap company in enterprise tech.

How much data is big data? Consider This: #TheCube generates as much as a quarter of a terabyte every day, and that does not include viewership multiples (thousands of viewers per day).

Wednesday’s keynotes brought together thought leaders from across the information technology space. The potential explosion in collective knowledge they bring to the table feels like it could blow the roof off of the Santa Convention Center. With each keynote scheduled to last just ten minutes, the pace was brisk and energizing, much like the Big Data storm ahead of us.
