Dave, Emulex is coming at this from the Ethernet angle and appears to view this as a whole new market. They will continue with their traditional Fibre Channel HBA, so Emulex now has two product lines of adapters, the traditional FC HBAs and these new 10Gb Ethernet/iSCSI/FCoE adapters. They also now face new competitors such as Broadcom, Intel and others who make 10GbE adapters. There is now a "land-grab" going on for mindshare and market share for the 10Gb LAN-on-Motherboard (LOM) market, and Emulex is tossing their hat into that ring.

Hi Dennis...thanks for posting this. How do you see the interplay between the Ethernet gang and the traditional FC folks. Seems Emulex is coming at this from more of an Ethernet angle whereas someone like QLogic is coming from its FC base.
