[edit] Best Practice in Oracle 11g Remote Replication: An EVA Example for Continuous Access
Disk array-based remote copy infrastructures have been available and in use for over a decade. When properly configured and deployed, they are capable of providing a timely recovery from a variety of failures, including the loss of an entire data center site. This Peer Incite will provide an overview of recommended best practices that should be followed when planning to deploy remote replication solutions for Oracle 11g Enterprise Database with Continuous Access. This session will use an HP EVA example as a reference model for database, server and storage administrators.
We are pleased to have Tina Rose presenting. Tina is a Senior Systems Engineer and noted practitioner in HP’s Customer Focused Testing (CFT) Group. She specializes in Oracle solutions on the EVA with an extensive background in the Microsoft and Linux operating systems.
In this session we'll use an HP EVA example to review:
- What steps can customers take to improve Oracle array-based replication in general and with EVA specifically?
- What requirements should users focus on when planning their environments?
- What technical attributes should users consider when evaluating replication technologies?
- How can customers best tune Oracle to meet business objectives?
